NEET 2026 Application: Key Highlights & Dates

Stay ahead of the deadlines. While official dates are released by the NTA, here are the tentative timelines for the 2026 cycle:

4-Step NEET Online Application Process

The NTA follows a structured 4-step process for the NEET UG registration. Make sure you have a stable internet connection before you begin.

Step 1: Online Registration

  1. Visit the official NTA website: neet.nta.nic.in.

  2. Click on "New Registration."

  3. Enter your basic details: Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality, and Identity Type (Aadhaar, Passport, etc.).

  4. Provide a valid Mobile Number and Email ID (NTA sends all OTPs and updates here).

  5. Create a strong password and choose a security question.

  6. Once submitted, an Application Number will be generated. Save this carefully!

Step 2: Filling the Application Form

Login using your Application Number and Password to complete the following:

  • Personal Details: Place of birth, category (General/OBC/SC/ST), and PwD status.

  • Exam Preferences: Choose your preferred Question Paper Medium (available in 13 languages) and select three Exam Cities in order of priority.

  • Academic Details: Enter marks/grades for Class 10, 11, and 12. You will need your school address, board name, and roll number.

Step 3: Document Upload (Specifications)

This is where most students face issues. Ensure your scanned copies meet these strict NTA requirements:

Pro-Tip: Your face must cover 80% of the photo, and ears must be clearly visible. Do not wear caps or tinted glasses.

Step 4: Fee Payment

The final step is the payment of the non-refundable registration fee via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI.

  • General: ₹1,700

  • General-EWS/OBC-NCL: ₹1,600

  • SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: ₹1,000

  • Outside India: ₹9,500
